Highland Corporate advised Grupo Gesfesa on the development of a value measurement system and continues to provide regular support for its monitoring and assessment.

BACKGROUND

Grupo Gesfesa Valencia, S.L. is a pioneering group in the development sector in the Levante region. With more than 30 years of history, its evolution has allowed it to achieve leadership positions in its original sector.

Originally focused on new housing, renovations, hotel complexes, offices, and retail, the development of this type of property has led it to execute unique developments such as multi-space leisure and retail complexes, integrated leisure and office centers, second homes, golf courses with their respective residential developments, industrial parks, and shopping centers.

In parallel, it has pursued diversification strategies in the energy, pharmaceutical, and financial sectors, as well as in equity participations, both nationally and internationally.

All of this, combined with the diverse shareholding interests and regulatory and contractual compliance requirements, led to the decision to dedicate resources to this opportunity.

TRANSACTION

The diversity of business lines, as well as the need to measure the evolution of value in each of them and at a consolidated level, led to the decision to launch an internal project to measure value and its evolution. Designed and launched in 2017, it has been updated up to this year, with the firm intention of maintaining it as long as the group’s composition requires. The system is designed to consider the specific characteristics of the different business lines and consolidate them to provide both a specific and comprehensive view of the group and its subsidiaries.
